Executive Coaching

Commercially Savvy. Psychologically Astute.

London. Edinburgh. Global.

Our focus is on 1:1 Executive Coaching: one of our core markets.

Externally provided professional coaching is increasingly fundamental in talent development at all levels. The best leaders actively choose to be coached and want to build their understanding of the most effective means of developing their people and organisations.

Executive Coaching provides time to think. Crucially it offers space away from the routine work day to explore important issues with complete confidentiality and enable strategic and leadership breakthroughs. Our approach is bespoke, we want to understand you as a person, your particular role within a business system/organisation.

There are many capable coaches in the market. Here is what we see as distinctive about our offering all of which is based on twenty+ years’ experience of working closely with senior executives and board members through executive search and Big Four management consulting. We have deep experience of reviewing organisational performance, interrogating clients at the most senior levels to ensure we are working with accurate information to get the best from a project.

Put simply: we understand what truly makes organisations tick and the importance of exceptional leadership.

We work Primarily with:

  • C‑suite and senior executives.

  • Chairs and board members.

  • Directors and partners in professional services.

  • Founders and scale‑up leaders.

  • High‑potential future leaders in larger organisations.

Our focus is on helping you:

  • Clarify your strategy and priorities.

  • Lead people and change more effectively.

  • Build emotional intelligence and resilience.

  • Make better decisions in ambiguity and pressure.

  • Align your work with your values so you stay motivated and fulfilled.

In line with respected coaching thinking (John Whitmore, Richard Boyatzis, Daniel Goleman and others), we don’t see coaching as advice‑giving. Instead, treat it as a structured, outcome‑focused partnership where we raise your self‑awareness, broaden your leadership range, and translate insight into disciplined action that makes a measurable difference.

Board‑Level Perspective With Psychological Depth

Many coaches lean either towards:

Business experience (ex‑executives who coach), or psychological expertise (ex‑therapists or occupational psychologists).

We bring both commercial and psychological depth and can:

Talk fluently about strategy, performance, stakeholders and risk, and go deeper into mindset, patterns, identity and the “inner game” of leadership.

That allows us to move seamlessly between your external challenges and your internal operating system – which is often where the biggest leverage lies.

Rigorous, Outcome‑Focused, Yet Human

Our success has been based on combining a clear, outcome‑focused approach with a human way of working.

  • Rigorous: We’re comfortable linking our work to KPIs, 360 data and business outcomes. We don’t like leaving impact vague.

  • Human: We keep jargon to a minimum, speak plainly and recognise that senior leaders are people first – with families, fears, health concerns and aspirations.

You should feel both stretched and supported. Research repeatedly shows that this combination – high challenge, high support – is where the most powerful developmental work happens.

Integrated Coaching: Three Modes in One Relationship

Instead of forcing you into one “model” we take a more flexible, bespoke approach integrating:

  • Executive/leadership coaching.

  • Business performance and strategic coaching.

  • Developmental/transformational coaching.

This means our work can evolve as you do. We might: start with a concrete performance issue (“My team isn’t performing”, “The board isn’t aligned”), move into systemic analysis and new leadership behaviours, then go deeper into the mindset and identity shifts needed for your next level of leadership.

You don’t have to change coaches to change focus. We can travel that entire arc together.

Ultimately, we see our role as enabling you get out of your comfort zone and fulfil your true potential: “If you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you’re comfortable of being in. Go a little out of your depth, and when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting.” David Bowie (1947-2016)

A Trusted, Confidential Partner in High‑Stakes Roles

If you’re in a senior role, there are usually things you can’t fully say to colleagues, direct reports, or sometimes even family:

  • Fears of failure or impostor syndrome.

  • Political manoeuvring or ethical dilemmas.

  • Doubts about the current strategy or board expectations.

  •  I take confidentiality extremely seriously. Over time, this creates a rare space where you can:

  • Test ideas and rehearse difficult conversations before they happen.

  • Decompress after high‑stakes events.

  • Acknowledge uncertainty and vulnerability without reputational cost.

  •  Many of my clients value us as the person around whom they don’t have to “perform”.

  • Working at the intersection of business strategy, leadership capability and the personal development you need to excel in these areas.

“Leadership is about shaping the soul of an organisation. At Antony Harvey Executive, we craft leadership that gets the very best out of itself and those they lead. Leadership that transforms from within.” Antony Harvey, Founder and Managing Director

Pragmatic, Evidence‑Informed Executive Coaching

We provide business‑focused, evidence‑informed executive coaching rather than generic life coaching. That means our work together is:

Explicitly tied to your organisational outcomes: performance, engagement, leadership bench‑strength, succession, culture, growth.

Informed by well‑researched frameworks such as:

  • The GROW model (Goal, Reality, Options, Will).

  • Emotional Intelligence and leadership styles.

  • Systems thinking and organisational dynamics.

  • Adult development and vertical leadership growth.

Commercially Savvy, Psychologically Astute

Research in executive coaching shows that the most effective coaches combine business acumen with psychological insight.

We are commercially savvy:

  • We understand organisational politics, P&L responsibility, market pressures, stakeholder complexity.

  • We’re comfortable working with metrics, KPIs, performance dashboards and board‑level scrutiny.

and psychologically astute:

  • We draw on coaching tools informed by cognitive‑behavioural, systemic and positive‑psychology approaches.

  • We pay attention to mindset, emotional regulation and identity, not just skills and tasks.

  • Our style is robust but supportive. We will challenge your thinking, assumptions and habits – while maintaining a high‑trust, confidential relationship.

A Partner in Thinking, not a “Guru.”

We’ll work with you as:

  • A thinking partner who helps you slow down, reflect and gain perspective.

  • A sounding board for complex, politically sensitive issues you can’t safely test in the open.

  • A mirror who reflects back patterns in your behaviour, communication and decision‑making.

A good coach is not there to impress you with clever answers. We’re there to help you find – and implement – better answers of your own.
